HOCl, otherwise known as hypochlorous acid is CleanSmart’s main active ingredient. HOCl is a weak acid similar to citrus juice and is naturally made in the white blood cells of humans and all mammals. HOCl is a powerful oxidant against bacteria, viruses, and fungi. It is generated through electrolysis- running an electric current through a saltwater solution. HOCl is widely used in healthcare, food safety, water treatment, and general sanitization.
